Our Goal is Your Child’s Success

Imagination. Inspiration. Creativity.

Welcome to Maslow!

Maslow Academy is an independent, nonprofit. Offering two locations in Montrose, Colorado, for childcare, preschool, kindergarten, and elementary education.

We focus on creating confident learners curious about the world and life. We teach mathematics, social emotional skills, arts and culture, physical education, languages, and literacy. We believe that children are individuals with their own interests and styles of learning.

Our low student-to-teacher ratio means we can devote time and attention to each student and help them achieve their learning potential.

Maslow Academy on Hillcrest

Maslow Academy on Hillcrest Drive is an independent community early childhood center. It offers a highly rated choice in education and care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and primary school children through third grade.

Children up to twelve years old join Maslow after-school and summer camp programming.

Located on the east side of town, Maslow on Hillcrest offers a country-home setting with 3 acres of outdoor space, including large fields and playgrounds.

Bright Beginnings at Colorado Outdoors

Bright Beginnings is our newest location opened January of 2023 at Colorado Outdoors. Bright Beginnings follows the same philosophies, training and resources as our flagship school, Maslow Academy. We provide care and education for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers from six weeks through five years of age. Bright Beginnings’ children enjoy high quality playgrounds and over 40 acres of open space with walking trails, wildlife corridors, and paths along the restored river.

Engaging Curriculum

Every child learns in a different way, at a different speed, but all will benefit from our engaging curriculum that stimulates their minds, challenging them to seek out knowledge and develop their critical thinking skills.

Our educators provide inspiration for learning through enrichment in the arts. They also focus on mathematics and logic, physical education, language and literacy, group activities for socialization, and foreign language study.

Highly Qualified Staff

We pride ourselves on hiring caring and compassionate teachers that are highly qualified and passionate about what they do.

All our staff at Maslow Academy view children as individuals. We are all different, and we all have different learning abilities and learning speeds.

Our certified teachers continue their learning journey during their employment at Maslow with continuous professional development, workshops, and college credit courses.

Low Student-to-Teacher Ratio

Children need space and attention to develop their unique skills. This can only happen in classes with fewer students, so that educators have time to devote attention to each and every child.

Our low student-to-teacher ratio allows our teachers to help each child to flourish at their own pace and in their own way. This is the best way to bring out and respect each child’s individuality.

Individualized Care and Education

Children’s early education is vital for their future mental and psychological development. We believe children are individuals with their personalities and styles of learning.

We understand that children learn at their own pace. Our goal as educators is to maximize the potential in each child by teaching according to their capability, while simultaneously developing their social, physical, and academic skills.

We allow children to progress through state standards and developmental guidelines at their own pace. We strive to foster a community where each child is encouraged and empowered to reach their peak potential.

Classes Adapted to Developmental Stages

We offer a variety of classrooms for families to find the one that best fits their needs and expectations. Our multi-age classrooms are based not only on children’s age, but also on their individual academic and social abilities.

Here at Maslow Academy, we believe that children start learning from the moment they are born. Education should involve all aspects of life, including arts, physical education, mathematics, science, social emotional development and literacy.

Low Student-to-Teacher Ratio

With our low student-to-teacher ratio, our educators can concentrate on each child individually and help them achieve their full potential. While there are many excellent education options out there, what sets Maslow Academy apart is our commitment to providing your child with the attention, encouragement, and education they deserve.

Financial Aid with CCAP and TSP

All children deserve to learn, and our aim is to offer access to high-quality care and educational programs for all families. That’s why our school accepts a high percentage of families covered by the state-funded Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). We also offer a grant-funded Tuition Subsidy Program (TSP) for those who don’t qualify for CCAP but are still in financial need.

Caring & Compassionate Staff

We pride ourselves on hiring caring and compassionate teachers that are highly qualified and passionate about what they do.

Our certified teachers continue their learning journey during their employment at Maslow with continuous professional development, workshops, and college credit courses.

We encourage family involvement, and we love to work with families who perceive education as a partnership. This means we are on the same page: a child’s education starts from birth!

Testimonials

What Our Parents Think

“We love Bright Beginnings at Colorado Outdoors. Our twin toddlers attend 4 days a week and are always excited to start their day. The staff is friendly, professional, helpful and trustworthy. The building is bright, colorful, clean and convenient. Our children are always working on craft projects and picking up new skills. We’re looking forward to a lifetime of memories.”

—Nicole and Joe O.

“The Maslow Academy and Bright Beginnings is the best partner for a foster family like ours. The wonderful staff provides an environment that makes it hard to get my little one to come home, she loves it.”

—Michael P.

“Maslow is a fantastic school! My son attends and absolutely loves it and has learned, and developed academically so much. The teachers and other staff are extremely caring, well educated and very thoughtful. I strongly recommend Maslow and Bright Beginnings!”

—Summer L.

“Becoming a Kinship caregiver can be daunting. Overnight you can go from grandma to the sole caregiver of your grandchildren. In my case, my four and six-year-old granddaughters came to live with me, followed later by my thirteen-month-old granddaughter. Maslow/Bright Beginnings has been a critical piece of the foster plan in providing a safe, consistent, and nurturing place for the girls to grow and thrive while allowing me to continue my employment. Having Maslow/BB in my corner has made one part of a challenging and delicate situation much easier to navigate.”
