Ms. Amber Gardner – Founder and President

Welcome to Bright Beginnings, where we offer education-based programs for children ages 6 weeks – 5 years old, specially designed to give your little learner the tools and experience they need for kindergarten and beyond! I am very excited to introduce you to myself, our program and staff!

I was born and raised in Montrose and attended Mesa State where I graduated with a BS in Math and an Elementary Teaching License in 2002. I taught fifth and sixth grade math and science in Montrose County Schools for 5 years. While teaching, I pursued a Master’s in School Counseling, graduating in 2007 from Adams State. I am a lifelong learner and went back to school in 2009 to enrich my understanding of the early childhood learner. I completed the requirements for a Large Center Early Childhood Director’s License in August 2010 and just recently became a member of the Buell Early Childhood Leadership 6th cohort.

Ms. AmberI have a passion for education and learning at all age levels and in Fall of 2012, I reentered the world of math education, accepting a part-time lecturer position at Colorado Mesa University instructing Intermediate Algebra.

I have a very supportive husband and four beautiful children, ages 7,9,15, and 18. After the birth of my littlest one in 2008, I decided to work from home with younger children in order to spend more time with my family. I opened a home childcare and preschool and loved incorporating my training and experience as a K-6 teacher and counselor into the preschool classroom. I soon realized many families shared my passion and appreciation for an academically stimulating program. To accommodate the growing waiting list, I moved from my garage and expanded to a state-of-the-art new facility downtown at 120 North Hillcrest Ave.

Ms. Amber

I believe being an educator is one of the most important and rewarding jobs in the world. I feel privileged to get to know and make a difference in each little life I meet. I also strongly believe that education begins at birth. As such, I view myself and staff as Professional Educators, not babysitters. I am committed to encouraging all children to learn and grow by providing a foundation of developmentally appropriate, educational experiences where they can succeed in a safe and nurturing environment.
